Asin was born in Kochi, Kerala and attended high school at the Naval Public School. Her father, Joseph Thottumkal initially from an Achayan family in Thodupuzha. Asin belongs to highly educated and rich family. Father of Asin, Joseph Thotumkal is a businessman and mother of Asin, Dr. Seline Thotumkal is a doctor and retired civil surgeon. He managed several businesses earlier than he decided to manage his daughter’s acting career instead where he accompanies her to all her foreign shoots.

Studies:-

Asin studied from Lower KG to class 10th in Naval Public school, Cochin and did 11th and 12th from St. Teresa School, Cochin. Hen Asin did graduation in English (BA English) from St. Teresa College for Women in Cochin, a college affiliated with MG University.

Carrier:-

She made her debut with a Malayalam film title“Narendra Makan Jayakanthan Vaka” which released in 2001, when she was just 15 years old. After getting through her education commitments, she reappeared on silver screen in 2003, when she performed in the Telugu film titled Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi success with the Telugu film. Her following film was also another Teague film Shivamani .Her following two Telugu films, Lakshmi Narasimha and Gharshana, both portrayed Asin as the love interest for police officers. Asin appeared anther two films Chkaram, Annavarm huge hit at the box office.

Asin was first debut Tamil movie Ullam kekumae. While her film Ullam Ketkumae was released successfully, she performed leading roles in some other Tamil films as well; this includes Majaa, Ghajini, Varalaru and Sivakasi. Among all these films, Gajini film is the Landmark of Asin’s career in both Telugu and Tamil to raise her career at its peak. Aalwar and Pokkiri, with the latter were becoming a success, whilst Aalwar became a failure. Asin opted to perform in Tamil film Kaavalan. She appeared in her first dual role in Dasavatharam.

Asin’s debut in bollywood was “Ghajini” in 2008, which was the remake of her Tamil film. Ghajini earned the fourth highest record business in the history. Asin performed in London Dreams by Vipul Shah later. Consequently, she started to refuse various offers for bollywood films Delhi-6. Ready which was released in June 2011.The film was a huge success for her career and was another record grossing film at the box office. Asin is performing in House full 2 by Sajid Khan. In her upcoming projects, she will be performing in Bol Bachchan.
